Two "Curlew Song" music tracks, by Aidan Jolley (who ran the Sheen Youth Club education sessions) and Ewan McKechnie are available here. Please note the file sizes!
Background noise from aeroplanes heading for Manchester Airport are a particular hazard for bird song recording in this area. The noise/calling by the usual proliferation of crows (or rooks?) has been recorded many times, and they clearly unsettle any curlews in the vicinity.
These five examples have been converted to MP3 format, and are the recordings made by members of Sheen Youth Club.
